GENERAL VESSEL DESCRIPTION and LAYOUT:
The F/V is a diesel twin engine vessel with molded fiberglass hull with a raked stem, semi-vee full keel bottom, hard chine’s with rolling chocks, curved stern, cabin forward with flying bridge, navigation mast with fish hold amidships and flush self-bailing open work deck aft. Three transverse bulkheads into four below deck compartments divide the vessel with two sets of longitudinal wood with fiberglass overlay stringers. This is a typical gill-netter; at the bow first is raised aluminum bulwarks with anchor roller built in, anchor, mooring cleats, and hydraulic anchor winch mounted to the fore deck and a ventilation/ escape hatch in the trunk cabin lid. The walkways lead aft port and starboard to the main deck with ¾” aluminum safety handrails on the sides of the flying bridge. A ladder from starboard aft of the main cabin accesses the flying bridge. The flying bridge contains a Plexiglas visor, a hydraulic helm with full engine controls, compass, bench seat centerline, Epirb with a 32” high by 1” stainless steel safety railing encompassing the flying bridge. A 6”aluminum pipe mast is mounted to the deck, aft cabin bulkhead and cabin lid with cross supports for antennas, radar dome and lights, with 2 ½” aluminum fore braces mounted forward to the cabin lid.
The cabin is entered by a wood door with window from port aft, stepping down two steps. To the starboard of entry is an enclosed head with marine toilet and stainless sink. Next to the starboard and forward is a galley table with fore and aft seating for four with storage space under the table. To Port of entry is a Dickinson Pacific diesel cabin heater: fuel supplied from 12-volt pulse pump, stove area has fire resistant heat shield. Next forward is a Formica counter top with galley area, microwave, stainless sink, cupboards and counter space. Next forward the hydraulic helm with pilot seat, full engine controls, instruments, gauges, DC magnetic breaker panels, and various electronics. An open companionway enters the forecastle amidships forward; taking two steps down and contains four bunks with storage under the bottom bunks. A Red Dot heater is located in the steps for bunk area heat. The vessel interior is finished with a vinyl sole, Formica ceiling, vinyl cushions, Formica / wood bulkheads and cabinets, teak trim, 12 -volt lighting with aluminum framed safety glass windows and aluminum framed safety glass side slider windows and round PVC port holes for interior light. Hatch in cabin sole access the dry storage with water tanks, water and wash down pumps, bilge pump and bilge alarm.
The self-bailing aft work deck is encompassed with a 12” fiberglass bulwarks with a 22”x 1 ¼” aluminum pipe safety railing for a total height of 34” encompassing the aft deck. Next aft is the main hold sectioned off into three compartments fore and aft with 2”x 8” woodbin boards. The fish hold is covered with two aluminum hatch covers, the hold is rigged for salmon brailers and has one 12-volt bilge pump with a float in a sump with cover and can be pumped out with the hydraulic Tyee #2 fish hold pump. Next the aft cockpit/work area with to the port and starboard sides are two aluminum 40”x 60”x 3/16” diamond thread engine removal hatches. Centerline amidships is a Bomar 24”x 24” aluminum watertight deck hatch that accesses the engine room/ lazaret. The engine room/ lazaret contains the main engines, batteries, hydraulics, pumps, reservoirs, fuel tanks, steering gear, rudder quadrant and stuffing boxes, bilge pumps and bilge alarm. Centerline aft of the fish hold mounted to the deck is a 56”x 50” net reel with aluminum level wind on sliding track. Next aft to the port side is a helm with full engine controls, and hydraulic controls with reel foot pedal and level wind control. A hydraulic power roller with aluminum fairleads is mounted to the transom centerline.
